Miidera Chikara Mochi Honke

Mii-dera Chikaramochi was established in 1869. The store is named in honor of Musashibo Benkei, the legendarily  strong warrior monk who dragged Mii-dera Temple’s bell to Mt. Hiei. The traditional handmade technique used to make Mii-dera Chikaramochi has been passed down from one generation to the next and has become known for its simple,  homemade taste. Chikaramochi uses honey and a green soy bean powder topping on the their fresh mochi.  It does not contain any additives or preservatives.
